You have been reading about my swollen feet and legs here. You been reading about my medical problems. I feel so sorry for you all. Smile
I blog about what is going on in my life and what I am interested in at the time. I been doing this since 1982 so many of you have had a ride over the years as I have.
First off I should say to all of you.. You all were correct. I should have listened to all of you. I needed to get in right away and tell my doctor about my swollen feet and legs. Hell I was at my doctor's a couple of weeks ago and never said a word to him about the swelling in my feet or legs.
My feel and legs were getting bigger and bigger. I guess it took a major painful headache and that fact that I could not lay down and go to sleep because of SOB. I also would be panting from coming up one set of stairs. I think the woman in the next apartment would hear me panting and lock her door. Smile
I should have gone to see my doctor sooner. I can not blame him. You can just show up at his office and he will work you in and see you.
Well as you know I was hurting bad. It is rare for me to get a headache and I have never had one like the one that I was having.
Truth is I made up my mind that if I was going to have the problems I was having at the time…If they could not be corrected I was not going to hang around in this world. The not being able to sleep was a major thing. Having pain is one thing but trying to lay down and not feeling like I take in a breath of air was another thing for me. It scared the hell out of me.
Just think if I had not gone into the hospital and got this fixed you would have had to read about my plans to kill myself.
"Well, the census return figures are still behind where they were 10 years ago, and Texas figures are even lower than the national figures. Ten years ago the nation returned about 72% of the mailed out forms, but this year they have only returned about 69%. Here in Texas, about 64% of the forms have been mailed back, compared to 68% in 2000. At least the figures are not as far behind the numbers for 2000 as they were two or three weeks ago.
Sadly, there have been some on the far right who have been trying to disrupt the census. People like Glenn Beck and Michele Bachmann have publicly stated that they only filled out part of the form and left the rest blank. It seems strange to me that these are the same people who want our government to spend less, and yet they are forcing the government to spend more just to get them properly counted.
If you mailed your form back in, then you cost the government 42 cents. But if you did not mail it in, or only partially filled it out, then the government must spend about $57 dollars to send a census worker out to your home. And if you refuse to answer their questions, you will only incur further costs as they will then talk to your neighbors, and if necessary, go and check on you through public records. Don't forget, the census is not an option but is mandated by the United States Constitution.
Whether you cooperate or not, you will be properly counted and all questions answered. By not cooperating, all you are doing is forcing the government to take more time and spend more money to do it. How does that contribute to the government saving money, or the idea of a smaller government? It obviously doesn't.
In fact, the government is going to have to spend about $1 billion a month in May and June just to count those who didn't send the form by mail, or who only partially completed the form. Just think, if we had all complied and mailed back our forms, we could have saved the government a couple of billion dollars.
Personally, I think the right-wingers and tea baggers who refused to mail their form back, or who refused to fully complete the form, have given up their right to complain about the government spending too much money."
Yes, run for the hills. It is that time of the year again. It is the time of the year again. Smile
Someone just made a search using Google for "who created blogs."
When you do that search Wikipedia is number one and ShowMeBlog is number two on the list. The ShowMeBlog link takes you to my January 9, 2006 post here "Who Invented the Blog?"
If you read my blogs you know that Wikipedia is my source of all knowledge. Hell, it is my religion. Smile
What does Wikipedia say about the subject of who invented blogs? You of course are one of the very few people in the world that know the truth. Think how special that makes you. Who invented blogs? OK all ready on the count of three: Jim Howard!
I do not know about you but when I see "69" I think sex. There are certain numbers when you see them you think something. There would be 911. Then of course 666.
When I turn 70 that is not a number that has any real meaning but I am going to be thinking old and thinking death. God, 70 years of age sounds real old.
Even 69 is old. You hear someone died at age 69 and you think "Well he was 69." You know if you hear someone died at 40 you way "Wow that was young." So in March I am going to be 69 and very close to 70 years of age.
Russell got his state ID yesterday. You can read about it here.
The weather here was nice. I paid all my bills and got food but I am broke now for an entire month. But I have a ice box full of food. I hope we so do not lose power for 20 hours again. I do not think it will happen. My ex-wife has lived here in this area for 5 years and never lost power until the other day.
Did you notice that I call a refrigerator an "icebox?" I wonder what the age break for "icebox" vs "refrigerator" is age wise.
Remember I am 69. An icebox was what we used before the refrigerator. When I was a kid you would put a sign in your window and the iceman would come down the street in his truck and look up at your window and see how you had turned the sign. He would then chip a block of ice to size and carry it to your home and put in the ice box for you. When I was a kid it was my job to empty the drip pan under the icebox.
Yes the "good old day." Smile
Back to turning 70 next year… Any other numbers that you hear that mean something to you?
Also I was just thinking … When you hear about a 70 year old man.. You think.. Poor old guy I hope he has someone to help him. Then recently we have seen stories were some guy that is 70 or older is still working or doing something and you go "wow." Or you hear of some old guy kicking ass of some young robber or something and you get a big smile on your face and you say "neat" or whatever young people say now days.
I would like to be one of those old guys that kicks some ass in my 70s as long as it does not cause me to wet my pants or cause me to miss my nap.
You got to see this video. Rep. Anthony Weiner making a speech in congress has his words "taken down." That is he was disciplined for using "inappropriate words in debate." What he said was about the Republicans and 100% true.
I never heard of "Words Taken Down" and did not know such a thing could be done.
There is NO way I could be a member of the House. Everything I said about the Republicans would be "inappropriate words."
When the Republicans call President Obama a Communist are their "Words Taken Down?" When the Republicans say that there are going to be death panels to kill older Americans are their "Words Taken Down?"
What this video Please.
Rep. Anthony Weiner is my hero now.

I use Twitter. I now use the new Google Buzz. It is going to be interesting. I am not sure how many are signed up for Twitter. I am not sure how many people are signed up for Google GMail. The question is how many of those Gmail people will decided to use Buzz.
I want to remind you that you that I used LiveJournal from 2000 to 2003. In 2003 I started using TypePad to host my blog.
